Dear Reader,
The promises of spring are all around us. Nature is
signaling her migrating members north, and the sweet
song of peepers are heard from the wetlands.
We think of spring as a time for growing and change.
Speaking of growing, have you heard? Wisconsin
listings have increased by over 500 in LOIS. What
does this mean for you and your organization? Read
more about it in the next section.

Property Drive & LOIS
Partnership Boosts WI Building & Site Database
Forward Wisconsin is pleased to announce that we
have added over 500 new listings to LOIS
through a newly-formed partnership with
PropertyDrive. With the new additions, our system
now contains over 2300 available buildings and sites
from across the State of Wisconsin.
Increasing the available number of sites and buildings
in our database increases our chances of attracting
and retaining businesses in the state.
As PropertyDrive’s commercial real estate company
adds new listings via the firm’s
Web site - located at PropertyDrive.com - the listings
will be immediately imported into the statewide
database. Each time a listing for a new community
becomes available, the economic developers in that
county will be notified, upon which Forward will seek
approval prior to the XML import. At that point, ED's
will have the ability to accept or decline Property
Drive's listings.

Enhancements Recently Made
LOIS Deploys Changes
- Currency symbols were occasionally showing up in
non-currency values in the PDF flyer. This issue has
been resolved.
- LOIS added a "warning" message to the delete
feature in the Images section.
- Users were unable to sort admin hide lists when
cookies were disabled. This issue has been resolved.
- Hide Screens - Data can now be displayed beyond
the first page in the "hide buildings" and other hide
screens which reside in the User Settings tab.
- Field Name Changes - Per the Advisory Council's
request on 2/24, the following changes were
made:
*Removed "Current" label from the Locality,
State, County, and Metro search results Population
column.
*Changed location and property description to
property and area description in the Buildings & Sites
Printable Flyer. (PDF)
*Added a message to the Admin image upload
pages, indicating that the first image will be the
primary photo that appears in the Printable flyer.

LOIS Plans Future Enhancements
LOIS is still working on the following enhancements:
- One-page quick view flyers for State, County and
Metros/Regions
- XML Import for State, County and Metro
sections
- Modify Date Filter in User Settings tab
- Fully automate realtor feature to allow users to
update through an automated process
- Allow users to upload images through XML
- Attach XML documentation (help files) on import
page in LOIS
The Advisory Council addressed other
suggestions and decided to create a new task list.
The list includes suggestions that were made by you,
by Forward and by other states who are using the
system. Wisconsin had the most suggestions which
shows how involved we really are! Updates will be
announced as time goes on.
Of course we are all anxiously waiting for the MSA
Updates. LOIS received updates for many other
states besides Wisconsin. They plan on uploading
them all at once. A notification will be sent as soon
as the data has been imported into LOIS.
