| What is May Day? |
|
In pagan times, May 1st was celebrated as the first day of spring and therefore rebirth after the barrenness of winter. In England the celebrations were presided over by a ceremonial king and queen of May while young men and women danced around the phallic May-pole to encourage fertility.

Dollars for LOIS
Utilities Support LOIS
Forward Wisconsin recently received a
contribution from one of it's newest financial
investors,
Wisconsin Public
Power, Inc. WPPI is a regional power company
serving 42 municipalities that operate electric
utilities.
As a continuing supporter, Wisconsin's
Touchstone Energy Cooperatives has reinvested
in the LOIS program.
LOIS would not be where it is at today without the
financial assistance we receive from our state's
utilities and the Department of Commerce.
Contributions help pay for annual fees and data
imports. Thank you for supporting LOIS!

Recent Enhancements
LOIS Deploys Changes
Enhancements to Presentation Site:
- My Properties Check Boxes -
To export multiple properties to a PDF file, users can
select certain properties by clicking on the
checkboxes located next to each property name. The
results will appear in a new window when you click on
the "My Properties" icon. This list is limited to 25
properties.
- Search Feature Shortcut - LOIS provided
a shortcut on the search results listings to allow the
general public to clear all search criteria without
having to return to the advanced search page. This
applies to all sections where the advanced search
feature is available.
- Printable Flyer (PDF) Label Change –
LOIS changed one of the field names inside the
printable brochure from "Location and Property
Description" to "Property and Area Description".
- Population Label Change –
LOIS removed the word "current" from the results list
in the presentation population column.
Enhancements to Administration
Site:
- Building Dimensions Field - a field was
added to the Buildings specifications section to allow
administrators to input dimensions.
- Image Order Feature - LOIS provided a
way for administrators to set any image as
the "default" after it has been uploaded (so that it
will show up on a printable flyer). In addition, LOIS
provided a clear indication of which image is currently
the "default" on the edit page.
- New Presentation Header Option –
Administrators may now turn off the presentation
header in the main overview screen within the User
Settings tab. This feature will allow administrators to
include a header on their printable flyers without
having it embedded on their LOIS pages. This applies
to all pages for the current user when they are
viewing the presentation site. It would not apply
to HTML or PDF flyers.
- Population Label Change –
LOIS removed the word "current" from the results list
in the administration population column.
