LOIS Advisory Council Meets
Topics of Discussion Highlighted
Realtor Component: Forward Wisconsin is
moving ahead and teaming up with a local commercial
realtor group to set up a test data import using XML.
This is just one of the ways that realtors and brokers
will be able to add listings to LOIS. They will
also have the ability to manually enter buildings and
sites. When testing is complete, you will be notified
about the component and Forward will
help you get the word out to realtors and brokers.
More info coming soon.
Resource Guidebook:
LOIS is nearing completion of the resource guidebook
and putting the finishing touches on the PDF
document which will soon be posted online. You will
be notified by e-mail when the guide becomes
available.
Shopping Cart Feature:
Future plans include adding a check box next to each
building in the presentation view, in which users will
be able to generate multiple PDF quick reference
flyers for up to 20 buildings or sites. LOIS also has
plans to add a quick reference flyer to the State,
County and Metro views.
Modify Date Filter:
This feature will enable the system to automatically
hide buildings or sites according to a modified date
filter. This feature along with the one mentioned
above is slated for completion within the next two
quarters.
Upcoming Marketing Activities:
The folks at LOIS have been marketing their system
to attendees at various trade shows and meetings. In
fact, they recently participated in the IEDC
conference in Chicago. They will be at
Corenet on October 23rd in Las Vegas. In addition to
attending trade shows, LOIS is working on a
campaign to market the system to site selection
consultants nationwide. Forward Wisconsin will join
forces with LOIS to market the system to key players
starting this fall.

LOIS Tips & Tricks
How to Set up a Link to LOIS on Your Web Site
Linking to LOIS is easier than ever with the new
link feature. To copy and paste links into your
community's Web site, simply click on the "edit" link
next to any building or site in your administration
screen. The link will appear at the top of each page.
Below, is an example of a link that you can set up on
your Web site. To link to your LOIS
profile, simply replace "wi-janesville"
with your own unique username. This example will
automatically open the buildings tab. To open the
sites tab, simply replace the word "buildings"
with "sites". It's that easy.

LOIS Research Statistics
Site Selectors Are Searching for Data in LOIS
LOIS is becoming a popular tool among executives
around the country. Evidence of this has become
apparent, as an increased number of site selection
consultants have been calling Forward Wisconsin to
obtain information about available buildings and sites.
It's more crucial now than ever to have your LOIS
profile current and up-to-date. It's also important to
display a link to LOIS on your Web site. What better
way to promote your community than by linking to
your own view of LOIS!
