Tip #1: Property & Area Descriptions
To force the Property and Area Description to appear in the Printable Brochure, simply copy and paste the content from the first textbox to the second one located in your Overview admin screen. The 2nd box will not appear until after you have created a new building or site and clicked on Submit. The 2nd box will appear at the bottom of the Overview page.

    Tip #2: More Lease Options
Looking for more lease options? LOIS recently added "negotiable" to the list of choices.

Tip #3: Sort by Active Column
Trying to sort by the Active column? With this new feature, you can sort any list of buildings or sites by the Active column in your admin screen.

KEEPING YOU IN THE LOOP ON LOIS SUMMER/FALL 2007

    Sharon Seffrood Dear Reader,

September is right around the corner which means it will be time again for the LOIS Advisory Council to convene. The next meeting will be in mid September in Kansas City. One guest is allowed to attend. If you are an economic developer and are interested in joining me, please let me know.

Meanwhile, if you have any suggestions for improvements or questions, please contact me before September 21st. I will gladly pass on any suggestions you may have for improving the system. But first, read about LOIS' current enhancements below!

    Google Map Recent Enhancement
    New Google Earth Map

LOIS has completed phase 1 of a 2-step upgrade which allows you to view properties as pinpoints on a map. Google Earth is being used as the model, which can display up to 50 properties at a time.

To view the Google Earth model, click on the Buildings tab in LOIS. Then click on the quick filter link for over 300,000 square feet. This will limit the number to just under 50 buildings. Select a building by clicking on the checkbox next to it. Then click on the blue Map Properties button. Say yes to the security question. You should see a Google Earth map similar to the screenshot in this article.

Coming soon will be phase 2, which will allow visitors to drill down to a more detailed level.

    Printable Brochure Fields Critical
Why Listings Aren't Making "The Cut"

Frequently, site selectors will contact Forward Wisconsin to conduct confidential searches. LOIS is typically our first stop. Just like any user, we conduct searches for buildings and sites using the Advanced Search feature. From there, we generate a list of PDF's using the My Properties feature. Then we check each listing to make sure that a photo has been included and that certain fields have been populated with data.

The fields of main concern to us are the property and area description, building or site details such as square footage, building type, transportation and utility information. Most importantly is the contact info. We also prefer to provide site selectors with listings that have photos associated with them. We look for good and credible information. If these basic fields are not filled out, we do not include those listings in the search results list.

State Highways 29, 54, 172 and Packerland Drive are the main transportation routes running through Hobart. Just south of the airport is the Southeast Industrial Park. The Hobart Business Park is located in northern Hobart just south of S.T.H. 29.
