LOIS Enhancements


  • Locality Name Change - If a Locality already exists in your profile, you will be able click on a drop-down listbox to select a different name. This feature is available in either the Buildings or Sites sections.
  • Building Form Fields - LOIS rearranged the location of the fields on the building entry form to match the overview page.
  • Sites Contact Info - The contact information that was missing in the printable brochure has been added.
  • Electric Utility Label - The generation capability label has been reset to MW and shows as such in the printable brochure.
  • Share E-mail Link - The new "Share Email Link" is located right next to the printable brochure link on the presentation site. Now you can share any page with someone by clicking on the link, which will automatically open your email program and place the link inside the body of your message.
  • Map Message - When users try to generate a map within a 50-miles radius, a message will appear to inform them that the report does not exist.
  • Regional Malls - In the States, Counties and MSA tabs, certain administrators may indicate if a regional mall is enclosed or not. This feature is only available to those of you who agreed to administer the Counties tab.
  • NAICS Link - A link to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) was added to the leading employers admin screen.
  • Show fractional water utility values showing as 0 (zero) on locality printable flyer (PDF) flyer. This change published the decimals on the locality printable flyer for water and sewer “mgd” fields.
  • Add a pop-up title to e-mail links. This provides instructions to users on how to use the Share Email Link.
  • Each page in LOIS will display a URL which you will be able to include as a link in e-mail.
  • PDF flyers for State, County, Metro sections are now available.
  • Aligned demographics data with labels in state, county and metro sections.
  • From within the Labor force section, LOIS drops the year when no data is being supplied on the Presentation Site.
  • An updated map message appears when an ESRI mapping report fails at the 50-miles radius.
  • Currency symbols were occasionally showing up in non-currency values in the PDF flyer. This issue has been resolved.
  • LOIS added a "warning" message to the delete feature in the Images section.
  • Users were unable to sort admin hide lists when cookies were This issue has been resolved.
  • Hide Screens - Data can now be displayed beyond the first page in the "hide buildings" and other hide screens which reside in the User Settings tab.
  • Field Name Changes - Per the Advisory Council's request on 2/24, the following changes were made:
    -Removed "Current" label from the Locality, State, County, and Metro search results Population column.
    -Changed location and property description to property and area description in the Buildings & Sites Printable Flyer. (PDF)
    -Added a message to the Admin image upload pages, indicating that the first image will be the primary photo that appears in the Printable flyer.
  • An image upload feature was added to the administration screens. You will no longer be required to e-mail your photos to LocationOne.
  • A zoning field was added as a dropdown to the Advanced Search page in the Sites section.
  • The new pinpoint mapping module feature allows users to pinpoint the mapping location of the site and/or building should the address not point to the accurate location. This feature is found on the Overview page of the site and building record on the administration facility web site.

Here's how it works:

  1. Click on the "Look Up Location" button located on the Overview Page of the Building or Site Record.
  2. Click on the Map to define the New Location.
  3. The map will refresh with the new location and Lon/Lat.
  4. Click "Save Point".
  5. The Lon/Lat information on the Overview page will be updated and the map will close.
  6. Select Submit on the Overview Page.
  • Users can now copy a building or site record in the Administration site. This feature allows users to start with a template with contact information, etc. This will really help in the Sites section with industrial park land sites.
  • A delete function was added to the XML feature in the realtor component. This will allow realtors/brokers to delete listings if they are using XML.
  • The building/site search pages have been updated to exclude counties where the building/site hide flag is turned on.
  • The Building tab has been set to display even though there may not be any records available to present.
  • The Voltage and Amps labels in the Building/Utility section have been fixed.
  • The County Description field was added to the presentation site on the overview page.
  • LOIS recently updated their system to fix the problem associated with the printable flyer where the logo and some of the wording was being cut off during the printing process.
  • The labels in the Locality Business Growth Status administration section have been enhanced.
  • Removed message about "back" button from the administrative logon page. Users may now click on the "back" button in the administration screen.
  • Updates were made to the Instructions and Calculations sections in the Buildings and Site tax pages.
  • Increased the hyperlink field on the profile edit page to 100 characters.
  • New Color Aerial Maps were added to the Mapping and Radii Module.
  • A label modification was made in the  Mapping and Radii Module. LOIS changed "Find Target" to "Show Radii".
  • Added Airports to Mapping and Radii Module.
  • ADA Complaint Code was added to all sections.
